CANINE GOOD CITIZEN
Practice the 10 test items to get the AKC CGC certificate. Tests include meeting people politely; accepting petting and grooming; walking nicely on leash; Sit, Down, Stay, and Come; remaining calm during sight and sound distractions; and 3 minute separation from handler. The CGC test (last class) is the gateway to many therapy dog programs and is accepted by some insurance companies and landlords as an indication that the dog has social skills and that you and your sidekick work well together as a team. 7 sessions
